Your First Moments
You spawn on a beach with nothing. Your first minutes determine your survival. Stay calm. Your first goal: gather stone and wood, then build a basic shelter before nightfall.
Choosing Your Spawn Location
You get multiple spawning options. Avoid beaches near monuments - they're dangerous. Look for beaches with nearby trees and rocks. Coastal areas provide water access. Avoid heavy radiation zones initially. Choose location balancing accessibility to resources with safety from threats.
First 15 Minutes: Gathering Resources
Hit rocks with your fists. Gather stone aggressively. Punch trees for wood. You'll receive 100-200 stone and 50-100 wood in your first minutes. Grab animal bones from nearby animals. Pickup cloth from dead scientists if you encounter them. Every resource counts.
Crafting Your First Tools
Open your inventory. Craft a stone pickaxe immediately - use 200 wood and 100 stone. Craft a stone axe. These tools multiply your gathering rate. With tools, stone gathering yields 3-4x more per rock. Wood gathering accelerates significantly.
Craft torches and a campfire. Warmth prevents freezing at night. A campfire also provides cooking capability for food.
Building Your First Shelter
Find a safe spot away from main roads. Build a small wooden base: foundation, walls, door, roof. Keep it minimal - thieves target large structures. A 1x1 or 1x2 foundation is sufficient. Door provides security. Lock your door with a lock or code lock. Place your first tool cupboard inside to prevent raiders building.
Hide your base in terrain when possible. Build near rocks or trees for cover. Avoid ridge tops where raiders spot bases easily.
Tool Progression
Stone tools are your start. Transition to bone tools quickly - slightly better. Metal tools come later with furnace access. Stone tools provide 100% gathering efficiency initially. Upgrade as resources allow, but stone tools are sufficient for day 1.
Food & Water
You'll get hungry. Hunt animals for meat. Boil it on your campfire - raw meat hurts. Berries provide food from plants. Drink from rivers using a water container, or boil water for safety. A full stomach maintains health and prevents starvation.
Canned food provides quick sustenance. Avoid contaminated water - boil it first. Starvation kills you slowly, so maintain steady food supplies.
Health & Survival
Maintain health above 20. Cold damages you - stay near campfires at night. Radiation hurts - avoid radiation areas. Hunger depletes health - eat constantly. Bandages heal wounds from combat. Syringe heals massive damage instantly.
Swimming in cold water kills you fast. Avoid deep water until you have better gear. Small cuts and scratches add up - use bandages liberally.
Avoiding Threats
Stay away from bigger players - they kill you immediately. Avoid populated areas early. Don't carry valuable items visibly. Hide your loot. Don't show off resources. Be paranoid. Listen for footsteps. Hear players approaching before they see you.
Monument scientists shoot on sight - avoid monuments until you have armor and weapons. Wildlife attacks - bears and wolves kill quickly. Run from predators.
Nighttime Preparation
Night falls fast. You must have shelter and fire before dark. Darkness is dangerous - you can't see far. Predators hunt at night. Stay indoors. Keep campfire burning. Doors locked. Don't venture out unless absolutely necessary.
Furnace & Component Progression
By end of day 1, craft a furnace. Furnaces smelt ore into metal. Gather ore deposits for continuous metal production. Metal enables better tools and components. Place furnace outside your shelter to prevent explosions inside. Keep it stocked with fuel - wood or coal.
Solo vs. Clan Play
Solo players move fast and hide effectively. Clans divide tasks - farming, crafting, defense. Small teams have advantages over solos late-game. Find a clan quickly or stay hidden. Joining a clan provides security and accelerates progression.
