Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information
Effective date: October 22, 2025
This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how you can make choices about your data—without legalese. If anything is unclear, reach out and we'll clarify.
1) Scope
This policy covers Falcon Rust game servers, websites, store/commerce, Discord integrations, and support channels. Some features rely on third-party platforms (e.g., Steam, Discord, payment processors). Their policies apply in addition to ours.
2) Data We Collect
Account & Identity
- • Steam/Discord identifiers, usernames, and linked profile details
- • Contact info you provide (e.g., email for purchases or support)
- • Purchase metadata from payment processors (we don't store full card numbers)
Gameplay & Community
- • In-game stats, inventories, and session logs needed for gameplay, moderation, and balancing
- • Chat content where required for safety or investigations (limited retention; see §8)
- • Clan/teammate affiliations, participation history, and leaderboard entries
Anti-Cheat & Safety
- • Technical signals used to detect cheating or rule evasion (e.g., IPs, device/browser signals, server-side telemetry, ban evasion indicators)
- • Cross-reference with community tools (e.g., BattleMetrics) for moderation
Technical & Analytics
- • IP address, approximate location, device/browser details
- • Diagnostics, crash logs, performance metrics
- • Cookies or similar technologies for authentication, preferences, and analytics
3) How We Use Data
- • Operate and secure servers, accounts, and store features
- • Complete payments, handle entitlements, and prevent fraud/abuse
- • Enforce rules, investigate reports, and combat cheating/ban evasion
- • Provide support and send essential service notices (e.g., outages, policy changes)
- • Analyze performance and gameplay to improve balance and player experience
- • Meet legal, tax, and compliance obligations
Where required by law, we rely on legitimate interests (operations, security, anti-cheat), contract (providing services you request), consent (optional analytics/marketing, if used), or legal obligation.
4) When We Share Data
We don't sell your data. We may share it as follows:
- • Service Providers: Hosting, payments, analytics, anti-cheat, logging (only what's needed to perform their services).
- • Platforms: Steam/Discord for authentication and community integrations.
- • Legal & Safety: If required by law, or to protect players, our staff, or the service.
- • Business Changes: If we reorganize or transfer operations, data may move with proper safeguards.
- • At Your Direction: For example, linking accounts or publishing leaderboard stats.
5) Cookies & Similar Tech
- • Essential: Login/authentication, session security, core functionality.
- • Preferences: Remember settings (e.g., language, UI).
- • Performance/Analytics: Diagnostics, crash/perf data, usage insights.
You can control cookies in your browser. Some features may not work without essential cookies.
6) Anti-Cheat Transparency
To keep gameplay fair, we collect and analyze technical signals and may correlate them with third-party tools (e.g., BattleMetrics). Anti-cheat data helps detect exploits, aimbots, scripting, and ban evasion. If we take action, we may retain relevant records for appeals and future enforcement (see §8).
7) Security
We use layered safeguards: encryption in transit, restricted access to sensitive systems, auditing, and rate-limiting/abuse detection. No security is perfect, but we prioritize rapid detection and response.
8) Retention
- • Account & Purchase Records: While your account/entitlements remain active and as required for tax/accounting (typically 3–7 years depending on jurisdiction).
- • Gameplay Logs: For live operations, balancing, and investigations; typically 12–24 months unless needed longer for safety or appeals.
- • Chat & Moderation Evidence: Kept only as long as needed for enforcement/appeals; may be extended for repeat abuse, ban evasion, or legal requirements.
- • Diagnostics/Analytics: Generally 12–18 months in aggregated or pseudonymized form.
We delete or de-identify data when it's no longer needed for the purposes above.
9) Your Choices & Rights
Depending on your region, you may have rights to:
- • Access, correct, or delete your data
- • Request portability of data you provided
- • Object to or restrict certain processing (e.g., non-essential analytics)
- • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
How to exercise: Contact us on Discord (see §12). We'll verify the request to protect your account. Note: We may keep limited data if required by law or necessary for fraud prevention, safety, or to maintain ban integrity.
10) Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). If you believe a child submitted information, contact us so we can remove it.
11) International Transfers
We may process data on servers outside your country. When we transfer data internationally, we apply appropriate safeguards (e.g., contractual clauses) consistent with applicable law.
12) Contact
Support & Privacy Requests:
Please include your Steam/Discord ID and a summary of your request.
13) Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in features, laws, or practices. We'll post the new version with the date above. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised policy.
Falcon Rust Privacy Commitment
We collect the minimum needed to run fair, fun servers; we don't sell your data; and we give you practical ways to understand and control what's collected.
