Tier 2 monument featuring the unique rotating wheel puzzle and direct path to red keycard.
Water Treatment is a Tier 2 monument known for its unique rotating wheel door mechanic. This large facility requires only a blue keycard and offers a straightforward puzzle path leading to a red keycard reward. You'll collect around 219 scrap per run with a direct linear progression that's easier than some other Tier 2 monuments. The rotating wheel becomes intuitive after a few runs, making this a reliable farming location for players progressing toward higher-tier monuments.
Water Treatment is straightforward in its requirements. You need a blue keycard and one fuse, plus a radiation suit for the moderate 22-level radiation. The green keycard is completely unnecessary, which makes this monument accessible once you have your first blue card. Bring a few medkits for emergencies, but this monument lacks dangerous climbing or combat, so preparation is minimal.
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Keycard | Blue only (green not needed) |
| Tools | 1 Electric Fuse |
| Protection | Radiation suit, 2-3 medkits |
| Run Time | 15-25 minutes for complete clear |
| Threat Level | No scientists, moderate radiation, no climbing hazards |
Water Treatment has three main structures. The central blast door building is where you enter, controlled by the rotating wheel. The main processing building has upper floors where the blue card room is located. The auxiliary power room is small but essential for the exit sequence. The rotating wheel is the visual centerpiece and your first interaction with the monument.
The puzzle flows from the wheel, through the blast doors, up through the processing building floors, and finally to the blue card room at the top. The auxiliary power room on the lower level contains the exit switch. Most loot concentrates in the blue card room, so reaching that location quickly is your primary goal.
Approach the large rotating wheel mounted on the center building. Rotate it until the blast doors on either side unlock. The wheel is intuitive and responds quickly. Once the doors are open, you gain access to the interior.
Walk through the open blast doors and enter the center building. Make your way upward to locate the fuse box. Insert your electric fuse to activate a timer. The timer is generous, so you don't need to rush excessively.
Head to the large building adjacent to the center structure and ascend to the second floor. Navigate toward the blue keycard door area, continuing upward until you reach the blue door entrance.
Use your blue keycard on the blue door to unlock the primary loot room. Inside you'll find 6 loot crates and 1 elite red keycard sitting prominently. Grab the red keycard first, then collect the remaining crates.
Head downward to the bottom floor and locate the auxiliary power room. Flip the exit switch to unlock your extraction route. Navigate back toward the main entrance using the now-open paths.
You can rotate the wheel from either side. The mechanics are identical regardless of approach direction. Simply interact and rotate until the doors open.
Water Treatment contains around 219 scrap across 35 barrels, 16 basic crates, 6 military crates, and 1 elite crate. The red keycard is the primary objective and opens access to higher-tier monuments like Airfield and Satellite Dish. The military crates contain useful components and blueprints. Basic crates and barrels provide supplemental scrap for mid-game farmers.
| Loot Type | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Barrels | 35 |
| Basic Crates | 16 |
| Military Crates | 6 |
| Elite Crates | 1 |
| Average Scrap | 219 |
Water Treatment is popular farming territory, so scout the perimeter before entering. The rotating wheel is visible from distance, making it an easy raid target. Watch for sleeping bags, bases, or player activity near the monument. The limited exit routes make escaping difficult if you encounter raiders during your run.
There's no recycler at Water Treatment, so you must carry loot to a recycler elsewhere. This makes you vulnerable during the carry phase. If you detect raider activity, consider stashing valuable loot in a secure location and returning for it later rather than running straight to your base. The blast doors can slow pursuers temporarily but won't stop determined raiders.
Link Water Treatment with Power Plant and Train Yard for an efficient tier 2 farm rotation. All three monuments reward red keycards, allowing you to accumulate progression items quickly. Check the recycler tool to identify which barrels contain valuable items worth carrying.
