Train Yard Overview

Train Yard is a Tier 2 monument combining multiple switches, moderate radiation, and a multi-floor puzzle. Located in the desert, this industrial structure rewards players with around 248 scrap per run and a red keycard. The puzzle is straightforward but requires visiting several buildings and flipping switches in the correct order.

Requirements and Preparation

You need a blue keycard and one fuse. The green keycard is optional, allowing you to grab an extra crate and 3 barrels. Bring a radiation suit because the radiation level is 22. Medical supplies (2-3 medkits) are important since the monument involves climbing with potential fall damage.

Requirement Details
Keycards Blue (required), Green (optional)
Tools 1 Electric Fuse
Protection Radiation suit, 2-3 medkits
Run Time 15-25 minutes total
Threat Level No scientists, moderate radiation, climbing hazard

Monument Layout

Train Yard has four main areas. The recycler building garage is your entry point with the first switch. The far tower requires climbing to access a balcony with the second switch. The main building is the tallest structure containing most of the loot. The external staircase runs up the main building's side and provides access to the upper loot rooms.

Puzzle Route

  1. Recycler Building Switch

Enter the recycler building garage and flip the first switch. This deactivates the first electrical barrier and lets you progress deeper into the monument.

  2. Far Tower Balcony

Exit and head to the far tower structure. Climb to the balcony and flip the second switch. Watch for fall damage while climbing.

  3. Main Building Fuse Box

Return to the main building and go to the second floor back corner. Locate the fuse box and insert your fuse. Immediately flip the third switch near the fuse box to progress the timer.

  4. External Staircase Ascent

Use the external staircase running up the side of the main building to reach the upper floor where the keycard doors are located. This route avoids internal corridor navigation.

  5. Green Door (Optional)

If you have a green keycard, use it on the green door. Inside you'll find 1 loot crate and 3 barrels. This step is optional, skip it if you don't have a green card.

  6. Blue Door and Red Keycard

Use your blue keycard on the blue door to access the final loot room. Inside you'll find 9 loot crates and the red keycard. Grab the red keycard immediately, then collect other crates if space allows.

Green Card Optional

You don't need a green keycard to complete Train Yard. The green room contains only 1 crate and 3 barrels. Skip it if you don't have the card and proceed straight to the blue door.

Loot Breakdown

Train Yard contains 41 barrels, 21 basic crates, 5 military crates, and 1 elite crate totaling around 248 scrap. The red keycard is your primary reward, opening doors at higher-tier monuments like Airfield and Satellite Dish. Military and elite crates are highest priority since they contain the best components and blueprints.

Loot Type Quantity
Barrels 41
Basic Crates 21
Military Crates 5
Elite Crates 1
Average Scrap 248

Practical Tips

Train Yard is a popular farming location with high PvP activity. Scout the perimeter before entering and watch for sleeping bags or player bases nearby. The recycler at the monument means raiders often camp the loot exchange area. Use the external staircase as your exit route to avoid predictable pathways.

Watch for fall damage from the far tower climb. Have medical supplies ready if you misjudge a climb. If you're uncomfortable with platforming, take the slower climbing route instead of attempting jumps. The time cost is minimal compared to dying and losing your gear.

Don't linger in loot rooms. Grab the red keycard, collect as many high-value crates as your inventory allows, and extract. The red keycard is the most valuable single item, so prioritize it above all else. If inventory is full before reaching the blue room, you can drop barrels or basic crates to make space for military crates.

Train Yard connects well with Water Treatment for an efficient farm route. Consider running both monuments in sequence to maximize your keycard accumulation. Check the monument loot database for detailed loot table information.
