The Excavator requires minimal preparation compared to other monuments. You do not need keycards, radiation protection, or heavy weapons since scientist count is low. Basic healing supplies are sufficient for the handful of scientists spawning here. If you plan to activate the excavator for resource generation, bring diesel fuel canisters. The monument location attracts medium-tier groups, so consider timing your visit during quieter server hours if PvP is a concern.

Monument Layout

The Excavator site is a sprawling industrial complex with the massive excavator machine at the center. The monument features an administrative building, storage structures, and scattered equipment areas. The excavator itself is positioned prominently and serves as the focal point for resource generation. Loot is distributed throughout multiple buildings and containers across the site perimeter.

The administrative building contains basic crates and office supplies. Storage areas hold barrels and scattered loot. The excavator control panel is located in the main operational building adjacent to the machine itself. Understanding this layout helps you collect all loot efficiently before activating the excavator.

Loot Distribution

The Excavator yields 38 barrels, 12 basic crates, 4 military crates, and approximately 185 scrap on average. The barrels are distributed across multiple storage areas and external container positions. Basic crates cluster around the administrative and maintenance buildings. Military crates spawn in the secure equipment storage section. This is a solid early-game farming location that rewards quick clearance without complicated puzzles.

Excavator Activation and Resource Mining

The excavator machine can be activated with diesel fuel to automatically mine resources. Locate the control panel in the main operational building and insert diesel fuel to start the mining process. Once activated, the excavator runs for a set duration, generating High Quality Metal, sulfur, stone, and metal fragments continuously. The resource output scales with the amount of diesel fuel provided.

Active excavation produces significant smoke and noise, alerting nearby players to your presence. This is a major consideration on competitive servers. The excavator mining process takes time to complete, so plan your departure accordingly. Scientist Encounters

Only five scientists spawn at the Excavator, making this the easiest monument for combat encounters. These scientists patrol the perimeter and interior areas but pose minimal threat compared to other monuments. Eliminate them methodically using standard weapons. The low scientist count means you can loot freely after clearing, unlike higher tier locations where constant respawn pressure persists.

Focus on gathering loot from interior buildings first, then clear any remaining scientists. Their low spawn count makes this an ideal training monument for new players getting comfortable with scientist combat mechanics.

Loot Collection Strategy

   Collect all barrels from storage containers and scattered equipment areas throughout the complex. Barrels provide consistent basic components.

4. Secure Military Crates

   Gather the 4 military crates from the equipment storage section. These contain the best individual items from the monument.

5. Optional Excavator Activation

   If you have diesel fuel and time, insert it into the excavator control panel to begin resource mining. Monitor the smoke and evacuate before additional players arrive.

PvP and Safety

The Excavator attracts casual and medium-tier groups due to its accessibility and resource generation potential. The site offers limited defensive positions, making it vulnerable to coordinated PvP attacks. Scout the area before fully committing to looting. If you spot other players approaching, prioritize extracting with what you have gathered.

The smoke from active excavation is visible across the map, making your presence obvious to potential raiders. Avoid activating the excavator if enemy activity is reported nearby. Consider stashing some loot and extracting safely rather than pushing for maximum looting on a contested server.
