Deployables turn a shell into a functional base. This covers everything you place inside, from the sleeping bag on hour one to the auto turret when you have the resources to lock down a compound.

Rust base interior with workbenches and storage

Day One

Small Stash (10 cloth). Buried in the ground and hidden from view. Place one outside your base with emergency materials: scrap, a gun, bandages. If you get raided and lose everything inside, you still have a start.

Sleeping Bag / Bed. Sleeping bags are your respawn point. Anyone can use them. Beds are private. Only you respawn on yours and have a shorter cooldown (5 min vs 15 min). Rename them so you know where they are.

Camp Fire (50 wood). Cooks food and keeps you warm. Visible at night from a long distance. Keep it inside your base.

Wood Storage Box (100 wood). 30 slots. Stack several to handle overflow while you save for large boxes. Place against walls to save floor space.

Furnace (200 stone + 100 wood + 50 low grade). Smelts ore into usable metal. Place inside your base as early as possible. You need metal frags to do almost anything. Load ore and wood, start it, come back. You can fit three furnaces in a single 1×1 triangle floor frame.

After First Run

Large Wood Box (250 wood). 48 slots. Upgrade from small boxes as soon as possible. Takes the same floor footprint but holds 60% more. Label each box: resources, ammo, food, components.

Repair Bench (125 metal frags + 20 wood + 20 leather). Repairs weapons and armour for a fraction of the original crafting cost. Place it near your loot room. Every base needs one.

Workbench Level 1 (500 wood + 100 metal frags + 50 scrap). Unlocks tier 1 crafting. Required for satchels, wood shutters, metal window bars, and a long list of weapons and tools. Get this built as your first priority after a furnace.

Workbench Level 2 (500 metal frags + 20 HQM + 500 scrap). Unlocks mid-tier crafting including semi-auto weapons, explosives, and strengthened glass. Must be adjacent to a workbench 1.

Research Table (200 metal frags + 20 scrap). Converts an item into its blueprint for scrap. Find something at a monument and research it instead of spending hundreds of scrap at the tech tree.

Large Furnace (500 stone + 200 wood + 100 low grade). Smelts ore faster than a standard furnace and holds more input. Takes a 2×2 footprint. Worth building once you are farming nodes regularly.

Locker (450 metal frags, WB1). Stores three complete loadouts. Swap gear with one button press. Mounted on a wall.

Ladder Hatch (300 metal frags, WB1). Fits in a floor frame and lets you move between floors vertically. Lockable with a code lock.

Established Base

Workbench Level 3 (1000 metal frags + 100 HQM + 1500 scrap). Unlocks top-tier crafting: rockets, C4, HQM gear, reinforced glass windows, and late-game weapons. Must be adjacent to a workbench 2.

Auto Turret (10 HQM + 1 CCTV camera + 1 targeting computer, WB3). Automatically shoots unauthorised players. Covers a 180-degree arc. Needs ammo and power. Authorise yourself and teammates before enabling.

SAM Site (1000 metal frags + 4 HQM + 15 scrap, WB2). Shoots down rockets, minicopters, and attack helicopters. Needs SAM site ammo. Place on rooftops.

Shotgun Trap (200 metal frags + 50 wood, WB1). Wall, floor, or ceiling mounted. Fires at anyone who walks in front of it without TC authorisation. Common in airlocks and tight corridors.

Flame Turret (200 metal frags + 100 low grade, WB1). Wall-mounted. Sprays fire when triggered. Effective in airlocks against unarmoured players. Cheaper than a shotgun trap and harder to avoid in narrow spaces.

Mixing Table (100 metal frags + 5 HQM + 25 scrap, WB2). Crafts ammo and explosives efficiently. Also brews teas from berries for temporary resource yield buffs.

Computer Station (200 metal frags + 1 targeting computer + 1 RF broadcaster + 1 RF receiver, WB3). Connects to CCTV cameras and auto turrets for remote monitoring. Lets you watch your compound and approaches from inside the base.
